Santina Bertulessi is deputy Head of Cabinet for Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights. She is the cabinet’s senior political adviser and is in charge, among other things, of the coordination of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the European economic policy coordination and the European Semester, the Social dimension of the Economic and Monetary Union, the Child Guarantee, the Social economy and the relations with the European Parliament.
In her paper for the Social Justice Ireland Annual Social Policy Conference, Santina speaks about the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan and the subsequent action plan. Europe has decided to put social justice, social investments and social resilience at the heart of the recovery. Social rights must drive Europe’s transition towards a green and digital economy and society.
